The South Mountain Journal is a a visual journal of the South Mountain region’s people and places in Maryland and Pennsylvania. The Journal is an imprint of Mountains and Rivers Media and is a visual portrayal of the rich human and natural landscapes that make up the region at this moment in time. A glimpse of the folklife in and around South Mountain (Maryland and Pennsylvania) South Mountain is the foothills of the Appalachian Mountain chain and it is also the northernmost tip of the Blue Ridge Mountains.  South Mountain Journal carefully balances the “things to do” and “sights to see” with the people and what they share of themselves an experience—an experience of the Genius loci (the particular spirit of this place); that is a lived experience and also a conversation between South Mountain and you, the reader. Our curiosities explore this place as a place to live, work, visit, and play.  The South Mountain Journal is a collaboration with community partners that help to make the work possible.
